My Anderson Cooper Experience

In addition to winning an all expense paid round trip excursion to New York City from Florida, a swanky hotel stay at New York’s posh Hudson Hotel and an appearance on TV hottest talk show taped live, I received a gift bag filled with goodies and got to meet Anderson Cooper in the flesh. From the personal driver bearing my name at the airport to the hotel representative that had a ring in her voice when she said my name, I felt like a “Super Star”. I flirted with the thought of wearing dark black aviator glasses and turning into a southern diva who would scream “Bellhop, where’s my Ice Tea?” But that’s not me. Instead I smiled like a school girl who knew she was the teacher’s pet. I was on an emotional roller coaster that some how got stuck in the one position. I was wired.

Once I took a moment to gather myself and take it all in, I have to say I was very impressed. Anderson consists of a very diverse personnel group. I saw young, old, African American, Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic, large, skinny, men, women, you name it they were their working for Anderson. They were genuinely kind and outstandingly professional. That meant a lot to me because I know the people that watch, love and support Anderson Cooper, and his various business endeavors, come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Kudos to the Anderson staff for doing an awesome job while being so awesome.

The clip below was taken backstage after the show was taped. You can see I was still a babbling star struck fan. #takemyfoolishadvice you never know where one experience will lead you or leave you so enjoy it!

Oh my goodness….I am soooooooooooooooo proud and happy for you! You looked great! I am so happy that you embellished those natural locks and showed them off with pride! Too often our beautiful SISTA’S get on tv, and feel compelled to be as plastic as possible…NO, WE DO NOT ALL DRESS LIKE VIDEO GIRLS IN MIAMI! You are beautiful inside and out. Nice job. Love you.

      Hey Blessedzeta02,
It’s interesting because the older you get the more confident you’re supposed to be right?… But in my situation that’s not always true. The older I get is the more I push myself outside of my comfort zone and new territory means new feelings of uncertainty. The day of my appearance on Anderson was confidence at its best. What calmed me to the most was telling myself “we are all sinners in God’s eyes, no one is better or worse than me.”
I love seeing more and more women rocking their natural everything. The standard on beauty is changing and advertisers know they have to appeal to a boarder audience who no longer believes their lies. Thanks again for the kind words and support. Be blessed.

Oh my goodness Amy! You have experienced something a lot of us would not experience in five life times. You represented yourself in a very professional and stylish manner. Keep on representing young black beautiful women. You have paved the way for our youngster, especially when you put God first in everything. Keep up the good work, bigger things are awaiting you.

This is just a question, give me some ideas on how I can invest small amounts of money? Using for example, my tax return.
