RUN YOUR OWN RACE! STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE! Last night I had to remind myself of this very thing. In life you go through situations, obstacles, trials, tribulations, victories, joys; it’s a journey.
It is easy to look at your world… do you know what I mean by your world? Your world being the people around you: friends, associates, colleagues, family, etc.. It is easy to look at your world and desire what those people in it have or what amazing event they may be experiencing in their life. Meanwhile back at the ranch you’re questioning your own situation, your lack of luxury, your lack of fantastic whatever. That is easy.
Beloved, it may be easy but it’s not worth it. God blesses all of His faithful and just children in His perfect time. When God pours out His blessings on you it is no mistake. As believers we have to remain focused on our own path, our own race, our own journey. The path to Christ is already a narrow one. No one else can run your race for you. Be honest with yourself and take in this reality I’m about to give you; as close as you may be to someone in your world, you don’t know their complete sacrifice. You do not know what they may have had to endure to obtain, or retain, what they have or where they are in life. You don’t know the hell that they maybe secretly living with every day. Why desire something they have when God is giving you peace within your own skin, within your own situation. God has many things resereved for you. If you are more focused on everyone and everything else how can He lead you to your blessings.
RUN YOUR OWN RACE, that’s what I had to say to myself. God needs all of my attention. I can’t afford to be distracted by So and So’s new car or new house or new outfit or whatever. I need to be focused on my love relationship with Christ, on my open ended conversation with Him, on the soul He wants me to minister to, on the child He wants me to embrace and love, on the elderly women He sends my way to remind her she matters. The Lord and I are BUSY!
Don’t get me wrong, you should praise Him for showing people in your world mercy, grace and blessings. Because everything good that man has acquired is a gift from God. God doesn’t want you to desire/lust after what someone else has. He wants you to have your own. When God pours out a blessing on you, it is enough for you and those around you. Praise Him for your race; it is your opportunity to do something great with your life.
After the Holy Spirit convicted my heart, I felt such comfort and peace. There is peace in Christ. I’m so happy to be running my own race.
You can’t run your own race if you are so focused on what someone else is doing and what you don’t have. Stay focused on your own race #takemyfoolishadvice
