In addition to winning an all expense paid round trip excursion to New York City from Florida, a swanky hotel stay at New York’s posh Hudson Hotel and an appearance on TV hottest talk show taped live, I received a gift bag filled with goodies and got to meet Anderson Cooper in the flesh. From the personal driver bearing my name at the airport to the hotel representative that had a ring in her voice when she said my name, I felt like a “Super Star”. I flirted with the thought of wearing dark black aviator glasses and turning into a southern diva who would scream “Bellhop, where’s my Ice Tea?” But that’s not me. Instead I smiled like a school girl who knew she was the teacher’s pet. I was on an emotional roller coaster that some how got stuck in the one position. I was wired.
Once I took a moment to gather myself and take it all in, I have to say I was very impressed. Anderson consists of a very diverse personnel group. I saw young, old, African American, Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic, large, skinny, men, women, you name it they were their working for Anderson. They were genuinely kind and outstandingly professional. That meant a lot to me because I know the people that watch, love and support Anderson Cooper, and his various business endeavors, come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Kudos to the Anderson staff for doing an awesome job while being so awesome.
